ACE Certified Instructor since 1992, Kim was first exposed to Pilates while managing group fitness programs in San Diego & while working at the Golden Door Spa in Escondido, CA.
Kim first completed the Mat Fundamentals course through Physical Mind Institute with Cathie Murakami, master teacher for the Golden Door & Rancho La Puerta Spa. In March 2000, she graduated from the Comprehensive Teaching Training Course of BASI – Body Arts & Science International, under the instruction of master trainer & founder Rael Isacowitz. With course work of over 600 hours, knowledge of Pilates theory, exercises and application, Kim is qualified to teach Pilates at all levels and on all equipment.
Kim is a graduate of the School of Social Ecology at U.C. Irvine and completed coursework in Kinesiology & Dance Movement. Continuing education workshops by both BASI & Stott, as well as industry educators have added to Kim’s foundation. Most recently Kim completed the course Pilates for the Mature Client – coursework focus on mature, elderly and frail clientele. Some additional workshops to include: Stott Pilates -Strength & Conditioning on Reformer, Jumpboard & Foam Roller; Osteoporosis Workshop-Sherri Betz; Shoulder Girdle Stabilization/Upper Quadrant.
A move in 2016 from Encinitas, CA to North Scottsdale has allowed Kim to pursue her passion for horses, running and lake activities, as well the opportunity to work with Maura Lavelle at her premiere studio Pilates at the Peak.
